5-DAY INTERNATIONAL MTB-ORIENTEERING

Event type :
5-day international individual MTB-O competition, on 13th and 14th August:
Hungarian Championships. For the total 5 days result the best 4 daily results
count according to the following scoring scheme: 200 - 100 * (own time /
winner's time). The daily score cannot be negative.
Terrain :
Typical mid-height mountains with detailed contours, mostly clear forests. The
most paths are frequently used by hikers and forestry, and these are easy to
ride. There are lot of less distinct forestry tracks, which are almost
impossible to ride. These are mapped with special symbol.
Because of the clear forests riding off the tracks is generally allowed!
Prizes :
Daily winners will be awarded with a Hungaria Cup marked
T-shirt. First 3 runners of each class will be awarded prizes based on the
total 5 days results (the best 4 results count according to a scoring scheme).
Medal for the first 3 Hungarian citizens in the Hungarian Championship events.
Punching system :
SPORTident electronic punching system will be used in the event, therefore
if you have SPORTident stick please indicate its number at presentation. If you do not
have own SPORTident stick you can rent it from the organizers for 200 HUF/day. (In
classes M/W 14 it is free of charge.) In the championship classes SPORTident sticks have to
be fixed to the bike with elastic band or skizip.
Miscellaneous
:
Helmet is compulsory! All competitors participate at their own risk.
The overall leader in each class gets a yellow bib which should be used on the
next racing day.

The finish station will be places some meters behind the finish line. The
competitor who cross first with his/her front wheel the finish line will win.

The courses of M21, W21, M18, M40 have two loops. Two competitors in the same
class start together. One of them goes to loop "A", the other to loop
"B". There will be a map exchange at the finish, and everybody goes
to the opposite loop.
